Building a New Home

You've waited your whole life to buy a custom home. You've worked hard. Dreamed. Anticipated. Now that you're ready to make your move, make sure you choose a builder who understands how special this moment really is. A builder who puts you first. Who really listens to your needs.

A builder who can create a home that reflects your lifestyle. Your preferences. Your family.

When you choose McClure & Associates, you'll find yourself in good company. After two decades of building, we've helped families, big and small, realize their dreams. We understand the unique needs of each customer. We welcome your ideas and suggestions. We're flexible and accessible. And we have a way to help you. McClure & Associates. It's the right move .

Read on to learn more information about the elements of building your home:

Site Selection

Choosing a site and planning orientation is one of the most important steps in the building process. We assist clients in locating their home or building on the site and evaluating all factors of design and economy. Working with clients in the preliminary stages of planning often saves money, time, and costly mistakes. Although we have lots available in our current neighborhoods, we also have access to building sites throughout the Triangle. Through our network of real estate associates, we are able to assist clients in finding desirable building sites that suit their needs and budgets. We are also happy to build on lots already owned by our clients.

Following site selection, we can also bring in landscape professionals to evaluate and develop a master plan for each project. These plans can then be utilized by clients and implemented in phases as needed over time.

For more information, see our current New Home Neighborhoods.

Plan Design

McClure and Associates began as a total design/build company. Currently we continue to design some of our speculative projects, but we also work with many of the Triangle's best designers and architects. We can assist clients in this initial decision, and help them decide on preliminary budget figures.

We have been increasingly impressed over the years by the organization and ability of our clients to prioritize their needs, desires, and budget constraints. With minimal assistance most are able to get through planning/ designing and on to construction. We also offer information on the cost effectiveness of most amenities and the features needed for resale at a later date.

Interior Design

We believe that most people have the ability to create an exciting and tasteful environment.

But since the opportunity for comprehensive selection does not occur frequently, we feel most clients need and appreciate the assistance of our Design Associates. They can present options, help the project stay within budget, and share information on the latest trends in design. Designers can participate in the entire process, or only when their help is desired. They typically handle all selections from exterior brick, siding, and roof shingles to interior finishes. Our Designers can then complete the project with wallpaper, window treatments, and furnishings if desired.

One extremely valuable service they provide is helping to recombine and place your existing furniture and accessories in your new home. They can help you “rethink” the pieces you already own and update the look for your new environment.

Cost Estimates

During the contract phase, clients are provided with a comprehensive document that specifies the many components used in the construction of that project. We feel this clarifies what is covered in the contract price, and what may later become a credit or overage during the course of construction.

We provide clients with pricing options on request, and advise them on the feasibility of selected upgrades they may be considering.

Work Change Orders document changes over time, so each client has a clear understanding of any changes to the project price.

Our goal is to accommodate the needs and desires of each client, but also to assist them in staying within budget when possible.
